Resolution Roundup
Have you made a goal to become healthier this year? The key to success is preparation! Eating healthily doesn’t have to be a hassle! And it can still be so tasty! Check out the video below and see how easy it is to prep delicious meals like garlic chicken and veggie pasta, pesto pasta chicken, herb chicken and veggies, pesto chicken and green beans, and teriyaki chicken bowls! Just a couple hours of prep and you’ll have delicious, healthy work lunches and/or dinners all week long!
Meal prepping also saves a ton of time and money, so if your other resolutions include devoting more time to a new activity and spending less money, this is a win-win-win!

Word of the Week: Commitment
noun: the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.
As we enter this new year with new goals and resolutions, it is commitment that our success is contingent upon. But as Inky Johnson brilliantly points out, commitment is not just agreeing to do something, “commitment is staying true to what you said you were going to do, long after the mood that you had said it in has left.”
Inky’s story:
“Inky Johnson was on his way to becoming an NFL football player, until his life completely changed. He suffered a life-threatening injury after a tackle during a college football game. It left his right arm paralyzed, immediately ending his football career. After all his struggles, Inky never gave up. He went on to complete a master’s degree in sports psychology. Today, he is mentoring athletes, and building young minds of underprivileged youth to inspire them with hope.”
Collins Selfies
Even though we work hard, we play hard too. Every week, we’ll show off our most important resource: the Collins Electrical staff.
This week, we introduce to you…
Our guests from the San Joaquin County Department! Here they are meeting our prefab team during their tour of our Corporate/Metro Office!
Recently, the San Joaquin Office of Education leadership group toured the Design and Prefabrication facility to observe and understand how young people can transition from high school programs into construction. With the current work picture, projected 50% attrition of trades people over the next 15 years, and the recession bubble preventing new trades hires, many School Districts are seeking ways to incorporate “Shop” back into the Curriculum.
This leadership group was able to round table discussion with our Prefabrication team to better understand how each of them entered the market and discuss ways to develop more interest in the young people attending many of the area high schools.
