Surprising Skill? I can sleep for 24 hours straight
Favorite quote? “It’s all good”
First Car? 1970 Convertible Mustang, which I still have and enjoy
Three skills that are essential to your job? Clarity, Compassion, Desire
Coolest project you have ever worked on? Kaiser Modesto Medical Center, because the end-user wanted something unique, created collaboration, and all levels of the design and build team performed cohesively from start to finish…on time and within budget.
Favorite Charity? The State Theater of Modesto has been a good outlet for me. This building is an early 30’s building and provides not only movies and live performances but also provides free educational and entertainment programs for over 12,000 school children each year for free, through private donations and private grants.
Who is your celebrity look alike? Back in the day, before my 30 year weight gain, I would have to say Emelio Estevez. Today, Chubby Checker?
Why do you think people like working at CECI? Personally I believe our people enjoy being surrounded by “good people.” Many of our people have personal relationships outside of our company, but bottom line, a lot of Collins people care about and for each other.
Favorite company core value? FAMILY – We talk a lot about being a family-based, family-atmosphere, company. I assimilate that to “a tribe.” I’ve had the opportunity to work with “the icons” of our industry within our company, and watch how their eldership was passed on to our new younger people in many of our roles and positions, and that spirit motivates me personally to be a better family member.
What is your favorite thing to do or place to go with your Family? My favorite thing to do with my family is to “go out to eat,” which has been a tradition while growing up as a child. I recall our favorite restaurant was “Smorgy Boys” in Stockton, and now that tradition holds true with my family and children. My favorite thing to do with my family is hang out on a Friday night when all my girls are home and watch a movie together, that started when my daughters were younger and it continues 20 years later.
